CF: Print advert
- Overall, I am happy with the final standard of my print advert, I believe that it achieves the aims which I stated I wanted to achieve. These objectives include primarily promoting the artist rather than the track, but obviously attempting to try and increase sales of the album, this is achieved by making the second piece of text in the reading path, the name of the album which is 'Don't try', this is achieved by making the text which displays the album name, the second biggest piece of text on the entire advert, with the largest being the name of the artist (Fidlar).
- By incorporating the names of very well established music magazines (Pitchfork and MOJO), more people may be intrigued enough to go online to listen to some of the artist's music, I also used real quotes from reviews of the band, which convey thye punk-revival genre which Fidlar are clearly associated with, I avoided using reviews which only referred to the quality of the artist's music, as the star ratings convey the reviewed quality.
- The use of the scannable image rewards fandom which was another major objective which I declared I wanted to achieve within the final advert produced, this is because the following of this band, will be select but dedicated, and bands often try to reward these dedicated fans for their support, to maintain a positive image.
- I also modified the colour of the hair and eyes of the female character, which creates a noticeable juxtaposition with the rest of the advert, this may make this advert stand out from other adverts, when published in music magazines or broadsheet newspapers.

CF: Development of print work (part 2)
- The next stage of the process of creating my print advert, is to add the VHS/home video effect that is incorporated into the actual music video. We believe that this idea relates to the band's fly-on-the-wall ethos, and possibly pays homage to a simpler time, when technology was more basic, an VHS tapes may have been used rather than DVD's which have a significantly crisper and sharper image.
- I shall be using Adobe Aftershop CS3 to achieve the desired VHS effect on the image; specifically; I downloaded a template which creates the illusion of distortion lines which are iconic of dated VHS tapes. I will use a guassian blur and I shall raesturize the layers, as well as a number of other editing techniques to create an image which truly looks dated.
